My little space

This is a place for me to express myself and vent. You can keep updated on what's going on in my life since I'm not very good at keeping everyone updated elsewhere!!!

Yippee

Well, it looks like I'll be making some extra cash over the next week or so and I'm sooooo happy about it. A friend of mine runs a fireworks tent every year and I usually help them out but this year another mutual friend has a tent here in Smyrna and I will probably work a couple of days for her. It's hot but the money is pretty good. LOL!
My mom and dad are trying to clean out their old house so they can paint it and sell it. My dad is just too old to bring all the boxes downstairs to move them and the moving company is booked solid for my dad's timeframe, so I offered to do it for him. He thought about it for a little while then called me and told me that he would pay me to do it next week. Yes, it's going up and down stairs multiple times, but I just won't have to hit the gym those days. LOL!
So, I'll be making money that I wasn't expecting over the next little bit. I'm just thrilled.
Had to share!

My new do...

Please disregard the shot down my shirt. My lovely husband decided that it would be a perfect picture. LOL!
In all reality, my hair actually looks better today than it did originally. Whoo hoo. Something actually easy to fix.

All alone...

The kids have gone away for the week. They left yesterday afternoon heading to New York. Cameron was having a hard time saying it, so he was saying You Nork instead. LOL!
They stayed last night in Ohio with Scott's aunt and uncle. I'm doing a huge cleaning of the house this week. You better buy stock in Hefty bags. :)
Scott and I are planning on taking a camping trip for a day or so while the kiddos are gone. We haven't done that since I was pregnant with Cameron. I can't wait to just veg.
Well, I'm off to clean again!!!
Bye

Busy Weekend

Well, let's see...
We had a busy weekend. Scott was off on Saturday night. He's trying to get his 20+ page paper done so he can turn it in by Wednesday. I took the kids to a birthday party on Saturday and they had a great time. Cameron got clocked in the head by a weedeater and has a big bump. Julia has been a little cranky all weekend. We saw Kate yesterday afternoon and she took our pictures. It's been forever since we've had family pics done so I'm waiting to see how they turn out. Scott is going to his first playdate ever this morning so I'm excited to see how that goes. LOL! It looks a bit gloomy out today. Maybe it will be prettier once we get to Roxy's.

Change of Plans!

We had planned on going to the zoo today but at 10:30, we were still all laying around. To get everyone moving, I decided to bribe Scott and the kids with Olive Garden. We had the all you can eat soup and salad and PIGGED out! After eating, we hit the Goodwill. Scott got a pair of jeans and the kids got a couple of books. After the Goodwill, we kept driving and ended up on Otter Creek Rd. in Nashville. Otter Creek leads to Radnor Lake so on the spur of the moment, we decided to take a hike.
Off we went to enjoy the wildlife. For anyone who loves being outdoors, this is an awesome hike. We saw soooooo many animals on our walk and it was really amazing. Let's see...here's a list of the animals we got to experience:
snakes, tiny little bitty frogs, a huge bullfrog, squirrels, birds, a hummingbird, geese and baby geese, turtles, chipmunks, dragonflies, bunnies and lizards.
Ok, so I know a lot of you might be grossed out by all these creatures, but I find them REALLY cool. Heck, I might go by myself sometime to take it all in again. Cameron wouldn't be quiet and I'm sure he scared off more animals than we saw. (Not to mention the girl that SCREAMED when we were walking down the trail when she saw a black snake.)
We met a really nice lady and her son near the welcome center. Her husband was a ranger there and she and her little boy were enjoying the scenery. I'm so jealous that they get to live in a park like that. we talked to her for probably half an hour while Cameron and her son, John, played. He was just a tiny little thing...20 months old. He fell down and Cameron helped him back up and wiped the dirt off his bottom for him. LOL! We walked for another 20 minutes and ended up back at the car.
We headed back towards Smyrna and decided to pick up some things for dinner at Publix.
Julia, my observant child, informed me that there was a sign at the end of one of the aisles that said, "No Card, No a$$" It was supposed to say No Card, No Hassles. Julia insisted that I had to inform someone. LOL. She didn't want anyone else to have to read it. LOL!
After that, we went to K.D. Fudds. I got Cake and Batter ice cream. It was awesome. I pigged out on that, ate my sushi and have been hanging out watching TV and doing laundry since.
Hopefully we'll actually make it to the zoo tomorrow.

Whew!!!!

Goodness! I feel like I haven't set down in a week. We went to a birthday party last night with the kids and have 2 more today. One is at the Y for my cousin at 2 and the other is at the park by the library this afternoon. I'm just happy that Scott is off and can go with us to these today.
We are planning on going to the zoo with some friends tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be too hot. After the zoo, we'll probably take a nap then we may hit the drive in to see Over the Hedge and Hoot tomorrow night. If anyone wants to see the current movies in Watertown, check out www.stardustdrivein.com. I didn't work out this weekend so far and I so need to. It's very hard to stay motivated when we've got so much going on.
Oh, my dad called me just after 8:00 last night to let us know that he had 3 baby quails hatch in his incubator. Growing up, we had tons of birds and it was one of my favorite things to help out with. Julia and Cameron both went with me last night to see the new babies. There were 3 of them at around 9 last night but another egg had some small cracks in it. Hopefully we will have more today!!!
The chickens should hatch out by next weekend and we'll probably spend a ton of time helping grandpa with his birds over the summer.

I haven't actually emerged from my bed today yet...except when Scott told me we had a new dog in the back yard. I jumped up, rushed to the back door in my underwear and realized that he had shaved Ophelia. I bet she's a lot cooler without all that hair...and she will create a lot less hair all over the place. LOL!

I feel like I'm at Disney World again!

But not in a good way. Every afternoon when we were there, it stormed. It was so humid and you could guarantee rain every day around 2-3. It's not been as early here, but I get frustrated with the rain and storms every afternoon. UGH!!! I guess I'll be praying for rain later on in the summer, but for now..."rain, rain, go away!"

Baby birdies...

My first attempts at blogging...

Since everyone else is doing it, I figured I should do it too. Today is the first day of June! June! We're half way through the year. School is out for summer, thank goodness, and I am only working 3 days a week instead of 4 through August! I'm so glad I'm going to get some time to spend with the kids this summer.
We've got tons of stuff to do and lots of things we should do! I've got to get organized so summer doesn't slip away from us!
Let's see...
I have to work today from noon until 4. When I get home, I'll make dinner and the kids have to go to dance around 6:30. We usually hit up the Goodwill to see what they have while the kids are at dance. I'm not feeling so great today and I don't plan on hitting the Y. I'll probably just hang out around the house tonight and try to get in the bed earlier than usual...before the news comes on!
